Word of the Day ("we", "our", or "us") is a vocabulary learning service available at words.url2.at and as a Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

                    The short version: We collect your email address and password when you sign up, and we track your learning activity (streaks, word history) so you can build on your progress. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not share your information with third parties except where necessary to operate the service.

                    We never collect: payment information, precise location data, or any sensitive personal data beyond what is listed above. Guest users who browse without an account are not asked to provide any personal information.

How We Use Your Information

Every piece of information we collect is used solely to deliver and improve Word of the Day. Specifically, we use your information to:

Create and manage your account so you can sign in from any device.
Track your daily streak and word history so your progress is always saved.
Send you a daily Word of the Day email if you have opted in to receive it.
Respond to support requests, feedback, or questions you send us.
Send transactional emails such as password reset links when requested by you.
Detect and prevent abuse, spam, or fraudulent activity on the platform.
Improve the service based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns.

                    We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making that has a legal or significant effect on you.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a cloud database. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are one-way hashed using industry-standard algorithms before being saved. Authentication tokens are short-lived and rotated on each session.

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all communication between your browser and our servers. Access to the database is restricted and requires authentication.

While we take reasonable technical steps to protect your data, no system is completely immune to security risks. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at solocoderdev@gmail.com.

Email Communications

We may send you the following types of emails:

Daily Word of the Day: Sent only if you explicitly opt in. You can opt out at any time from your account settings or by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any daily email.
Transactional emails: Password resets or account-related notifications triggered by your own actions. These cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
Support replies: Responses to feedback or questions you have sent us.

                    We will never send unsolicited marketing emails or share your email address with third-party mailing lists.

Third-Party Services

To operate Word of the Day, we use a small number of trusted third-party services. These providers access only the data necessary to perform their specific function and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.

MongoDB Atlas is used to store account and learning data securely in the cloud.

A transactional email service is used to deliver daily words and account emails to your inbox.

Server Hosting

Our backend runs on a cloud server. Your requests are processed there and nowhere else.

We do not integrate with any advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that collect personally identifiable information. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access:You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction:You can update your name or email address from your account settings at any time.
Deletion:You can request that we delete your account and all associated data by emailing us.
Opt-out:You can unsubscribe from daily word emails at any time via the link in any email or from your account settings.
Portability:You can request an export of your word history and account data in a structured format.

Changes to This Policy
